Great Stove, Very Light Couldn't Say enough good things about it. However, be warned, this stove, although it says in the title, does not come with an Autostart. I thought it did, because they say that it does, but I did not receive one. After calling the company that shipped the item (Backcountry), they wanted to charge me extra for it. Never had a problem with Backcountry until this time.

It has been many years since I needed a portable camp stove. Thirty years ago it was the Hank Roberts mini-stove that served me while on a 2 month bicycle tour through the Rocky Mountains. I have recently returned to the bike camping world but the mini-stove has long since been out of production. I was looking for a replacement stove that would allow for simmering as well as full heat. The Superfly was the recommended stove.I have taken the stove on several campouts and have run it through the paces. This stove has served me well. The heat can be regulated to just a simmer for those times when I don't want the pot to boil over while cooking oatmeal in the mornings. It can be adjusted to cook eggs without burning them in aluminum mess kit pans. And for those times when you just want to get the water boiling for rice or noodles, the heat can be turned up to make quick work of the task.I bought a stove without the auto-start for myself. It starts easily with a Bic lighter or a match. I eventually bought a second stove for my daughter. Hers has the auto-start and it seems to work well. I keep an extra lighter in her mess kit, just in case the auto-start fails, but I have had no need to use it yet.I also picked up an MSR Universal Canister Stand. While not absolutely necessary, the stand gives me a little extra peace of mind by providing extra stability to the cooking platform. I'm not sure, given the geometry of the stovetop, that any amount of weight could actually tip over the stove and fuel canister, but with the stand attached to the bottom of the fuel can, the chances go to nearly zero.

I have used this stove for two years in various conditions. It is a good solid stove and I do not regret my purchasing it. It boils water super fast and is pretty efficient.I only gave it 3 stars because of 3 reasons:1st- It does not do well in the wind. I backpack the Rocky Mountains and it is rare to find a moment when there isn't a breeze, and with the Superfly we were constantly huddled around it while cooking.2nd- It's awkward to pack. It comes with a soft shell bag though see those blades the pot sits on and you too will worry about puncturing through something in your pack. It's also not overly large, though not small enough to put in a harder container.3rd- This was a huge let down. The "optional auto-start" that came with my stove a. Wasn't so optional as I couldn't take it off and b. COMPLETELY SUCKS! I was able to start my stove maybe twice with it, clicking about 50 times with wasted gas pouring out of it till it finally would start. I always ended up just taking matches.Overall Conclusion: Buy it without the autostart, it's a good stove at a good price.
