It does the job. Is a little tricky converting from flat to sitting. Is very comfy with the bottom part extended. The poles are removable so that it could be rolled up normally. Having said that, its easier to leave them in and use the sack that comes with the chair kit instead. It takes up more room this way, but thats the price you pay for the functionality. It also adds another layer of puncture resistance to the bottom of the mat, and a little more noise to the top. If your using this under a sleeping bag or with a blanket on top of it, it helps cut down the noise.

Great addition to any inflatable sleeping pad. I have used with exped syn w/ pump and a big agnes isulated core, both worked just fine. Turns a sleeping pad into a comfortable chair/ lounge chair and provides extra protection for pad without adding too much extra weight or volume to your pack.

I bought two of these for our two Exped down mats. One chair kit went on very easily, the other was tight and took a fair bit of wriggling to insert the supports. We left these on the mats for the two weeks we were camping and they served very well as protectors and - added bonus for couples - connectors to keep the two mats clipped together. They are so great as mat protectors and connectors that I'm not sure what I love about them more - that function or their use as chairs. It felt decadent to be reclining inside the tent, leaning back in a chair (but thoroughly enjoyable). We didn't use the chair function as often as we expected to as we had difficulty with that one kit. Getting the supports in was easy enough, getting them out again was easy on one and a real hassle on the other.
