I just received the backpack yesterday and cannot wait to get it out in the field. It is super rugged and it has some very impressive features that I haven't seen anywhere else that I think will make my next backpacking adventure a little easier.Having been a committed Boy Scout almost 20 years ago, I know a thing or two about backpacks, namely the cheaper variety. As most scouts, I depended on yard mowing and other chores along with occasional help from mom and dad to purchase my equipment, so I never quite got to a point where I was backpacking with a backpack even remotely near this level.As I unpacked this new piece of equipment, it became immediately apparent that high quality material was used and that the pack was extremely rugged. There are plenty of compartments. Not only does this give you a means of keeping your gear organized and separated, it also makes it easier to access said gear easily without the need to dig to the bottom of the pack. Also, the side pockets and top cover can come completely off if the need arises which is also nice. I suspect that these could be worn separately if needed as perhaps a fanny pack if the need arose as well.Another feature I like is the fact that the design offers several loops in which gear can be strapped, clicked, or tied to the exterior of the pack for easy access. Also, the shoulder straps and belt seem to be well-padded and as with most backpacks fully adjustable.My favorite feature is the access to a bag at the bottom of the pack through the lower left corner. Although this could have a specific purpose (I'll need to read up on it a bit more to find out), it seems like it would be perfect for dirty clothes. As the bag fills up, it gradually fills up the bottom of the pack and is kept separate from everything else. The good news of course, is that we can use it for whatever we want; I'm just glad it's there as I know I can find a use for it.In terms of weight, the pack only weighs 5.7 lbs or so (I may be a bit off). Due to the fact that the last pack I had was an external frame pack that weighed over 8 pounds this pack seems perfectly light to me. Anytime you add ruggedness, you're going to typically end up with a slightly heavier product. The trick is finding the balance which in my opinion TAIGA has with this pack.Overall, I think this is wonderful pack and will certainly reply to this review if I find out otherwise once I get it out in the field.

THIS PACK IS VERY RUGGED, THE DESIGN IS WELL THOUGHT OUT, AND AT 6' 5" FITS VERY COMFORTABLY. WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PACK.
