We've tried a bunch of sleeping mats prior to purchasing this one. Just came back for a 3-week-long camping trip in the deep woods of Northern Ontario. Here's the summary:-This mat is exceptionally warm; last year we used an air mattress and were cold every night, having to wear extra layers of clothing and use extra blankets. Since you lose a lot of your body heat to the cold ground, using this mat resulted in being able to use a lighter sleeping bag, and only one layer of sleeping clothes.-This mat is almost as comfortable as my TempurPedic at home. Even without extra inflation - just letting it self-inflate fully - kept my 195 lbs off the ground when lying flat. This is awesome since you don't have to worry if it springs a leak - once the foam expands fully it will keep you off the ground.-It is soft and plush - without the squishy feeling or the firmness of a regular foam pad. Definitely better than most hotel beds. I'm keeping these at home for guests.-Compared to other sleeping pads of the same size and thickness, it is much lighter and packs smaller. Watch the YouTube video on how to pack it properly-The separate one-way inflate and deflate valves are a huge value; you can't appreciate it enough until you've tried to deflate a regular pad...-And lastly, the craftsmanship is superb. The materials are high-end, non-slippery and great-looking. The product oozes quality, and the included mini-pump is great.One con: I wish they made those extra-wide... 30'' is fine, but 40 inches would be sooo much more comfortable...Hope this helps.

These mats are not so portable, nor that light, but I'm yet to have a better sleep when out bush. Two fit together and make an almost perfect queen size bed - good for sleeping with a partner, because the movement in one doesn't transfer to the other. Also use this occasionally at home for guests and have had no complaints there either.

In my opinion this mat will be hard to beat as a self-inflatable. As has been noted it is a stretchy mat and I've found easy to regulate the amount of air for a near perfect fit. There is some buoyancy but it's a stable, soft cushy. I'm just over 5,10" and 175lbs and comfortably off the ground. This is what a mattress should do. One more thing it's guaranteed in materials and workmanship for 5 years.
